I have started my PhD this month!

My PhD is under the Social Policy Research Centre at UNSW, same place where I have also worked at!

While I enjoyed working on different research projects about disabilty for the last 2 years, I am grateful for the opportunity and scholarship to pursue my own research topic!

I will focus on the identity and belonging, experienced and expressed by Australian Muslim Women with hearing loss.

This is a build up on my Honours thesis I completed in 2016, and I am excited to expand and work more on this area! For more information check out:

I am looking foward to it, and will also share my journey on Silent Signs.

So far it has been great, but I am busy settling in, attending many orientations and workshops and making sure I have appropiate support and assistance such as Auslan sign language interpreters and live-captioning!
