I am currently working at Advance Diversity Services as a research assistant about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
This is part of a research project being conducted by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the Advance Diversity Services (ADS) with the support of the Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association of NSW (MDAA) and Settlement Services International (SSI).
The project involves looking at how people from different ethnic and language backgrounds access support services in Australia and how to better increase their access to the NDIS. I assisted in conducting focus groups and interviews with people from different language backgrounds and have a disability or is caring for someone with a disability in their family.
Below is a video recruitment in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) promoting a focus group for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Please note: This recruitment is now over and the group discussion has been completed.
